Dogs Rule in School

Dogs Rule in School

*      Reading to a dog is less intimidating then reading to a person.  Therapy dogs have non-judgmental ears.  They don’t care if a student mispronounces a word or struggles to read.  The confidence stemming from this interaction can help develop a love for reading.

*      Visits from dogs provide a welcome change from routine.

*      People become more active and responsive during and after visiting with animals.

*      Dogs make it easier for two strangers to talk.

*      People who talk to dogs, share their thoughts and feelings more readily.

*      The dog gives people a common interest and provides a focus for conversation.

*      Dogs accept people as they are and the visit leaves behind positive memories.
